For the Winter League XC on 24/02, thanks to everyone who organised, marshalled, set out the course, prepared sandwiches and baked for what was an excellent event! We haven't featured well in the men's and overall league results, but our Vets team came 2nd and the girls came 4th. We featured more prominently as individuals with Baz 2nd overall and Chris Rose first F50!! Angela was 3rd F35, Jayne 2nd F40 and Steve Hall 2nd M50. Well done all.

6 Skipton runners headed to Lancaster 2nd March for the Trimpell 20. A bright and windy day proved to be perfect conditions for the race which ‘ran’ along the Lune Valley Cycle trail. Four runners achieved PBs and one a new title. Well done Steve Hall, Jerry (Junior) Lamb, Mike ‘the Colonel’ Lamb, Cath Coates, Bill Smith & Tim Coates. Details on the website.

The Dent 14, March 8th saw Steve Hall, Clare Pearson, Ann-Marie Bulcock, Paul Norman, Ruth Isabella Elkington, Chris Rose, Calvin Casper & Silvia Vida battle their way 'man'-fully through the puddles. The loop towards Sedburgh was flooded, so the race was two laps of the upper, hillier part of the course (the 'shallow end). Ruth's other part, Steve also took part. A great result for the girls with Clare, Ann-Marie and Ruth winning the team prize!!

On the same day as Dent, Phil Evans and Brian Stallwood represented us well at the Half Tour of Pendle. A shame these two cracking events always coincide.

Forthcoming for your diaries

We’ve been asked to help out with the 3 Peaks as it is an international event this year so needs to have a better level of course marking and marshalling. Contact PN

As ever, we are marshalling the Race for Life. This is an ace way to put something back into sport and donate some of your valuable time and skills to charity. Contact PN

Proposed club trip: Great Langdale road half marathon 14th September. Rick will organise sunshine for the event this year as well as a minibus but he is making no promises regarding the removal of hills. A good day out to end the summer.

Plus: Coniston Trail 4th Oct. An event we haven’t done before but the website looks good!
