Congrats to Steve Hall (1:31:39), Clare Pearson (1:34:57) & Phil Nettleton (1:44:00) for better than they expected results at Lancaster on Sun 21st October. Well done each!

Mike Davis and Ann-Marie Bulcock crossed the big pond to run the New York Marathon on November 4^th. Both came through unscathed (as far as we know!) and Mike has thus achieved a long-held ambition to take part in this event. We hope his charity fund-raising was successful.

The same day Richard Barrett (60:17), Steve Hall (74:27), Clare Pearson (74:45, watch your back Steve!) and Angela Barrett (83:28) undulated their way around the Guy Fawkes 10 at Ripley Castle. Baz got cross with himself for misjudging the age of the person in front of him and next year promises to be completely ruthless!

The 11^th day of the 11^th month saw the opening event of the West Yorks Winter XC League hosted by Idle AC. A league record turnout of runners observed two minutes silence before the race. Baz and our women’s team both finished 3^rd, so well done to them. Four races to go!

Sun 16th Dec         Longridge 7 (a really good road run + Xmas pudding for finishers!)

Sat 5th Jan             Yorks XC Championships, Huddersfield (entries & £ by 8th Dec, talk to Baz)

Sun 6th Jan            XC Pudsey (Winter League)

Sun 13th Jan          Yorkshire Vets XC, Greenhead (entries & £ by end Dec, talk to Baz)

Sat 26th Jan           NoEAA XC Championships, Roundhay (entries & £ by 8th Dec, talk to Baz)

Sun 27th Jan          XC Stainland (Winter League)

Sun 30th Dec         Hot Toddy (lose those Xmas pounds!)

Sun 24th Feb         XC Skipton (Winter League) Marshals and First Aiders, please!!

AGM, etc                Date & time below. Food provided but please bring your own drink. All members and their families are very welcome. Why not step forward to join the committee? Please let Rick Small have your nominations for the following categories either by phone, e-mail, letter or by filling in one of the voting forms which Rick will have available on training nights up at the pool.

Xmas party            21st Dec at Rendezvous, 19:00 don’t be late – dancing shoes and bags of energy essential. Prepare to find out who will be king or queen of the limbo – will Phil retain his title?!?! Cath’s money is on him anyway!

Club kit                   Vests costing £15 (£7.50 for juniors) and fleeces at £25 are still available from Chris Rose 01756 700818 to arrange a fitting
