Great Langdale

Mr Small has booked a luxury minibus for the 14th September for the Great Langdale (half) marathon. Please note this is a scenic, undulating road race and that there may or may not be rain that day. Please note that whatever the weather, a good time will be had & the New Dungeon Gill serves good beer and cups of tea for before, during and after the race. Just because this is aimed at us doing the half does not preclude somebody doing the marathon. We will wait for you to finish!

Kali Taylor's Yorkshire Dales Triathlon Challenge

Kali Taylor is planning the Yorkshire Dales Triathlon Challenge which includes the following

• 1Km Swim Malham Tarn
• 30Km Mountain Bike
• 30Km Run the 3 Peaks

Edinburgh (May 2008)

Skipton AC headed north of the border to Edinburgh to show off their talents in this years Edinburgh marathon. Beautiful weather albeit a little windy in places, ensured a great day for most. Jane Butterworth clocked up a brilliant 3:38 with Paul Norman producing a 4:02 despite cramp for that last hour or so.

Helvellen Club Walk (May 2008)

Every month (ish) Skipton AC organises a walk. On Sunday 18th May 14 of us headed off up Striding Edge to the summit of Helvellyn. It was great day all round. thanks to Rick for organising the walk, hiring the bus, driving the bus and generally keeping us entertained. Check out the photos here.

The next walk planned for July 3rd/4th (Thurs/Fri) is a two day stroll from Skipton to Dent with a Camp/B&B mid way (2 x 17miles). If you fancy joining us speak to John (01756 701172)

Three Peaks (April 08)

Saturday April 26th saw the club out on the hills again, running and marshalling the 54th annual Three Peaks race. Phil (Evans) and Phillip (Hargraves) ran the event for the club whilst many of us marshalled and watched in awe.

This year the event formed part of the World Long Distance Mountain Running Challenge so extra marshalls flags and other bits and bobs were required. Well done to the advanced party who helped set out the course on the Wednesday and to those who marshalled on the day. The feedback from the organisers was very complimentary.
